Todd Kooy, MD
How, when and why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?
After several years of undergraduate training I became an Emergency Medical Technician and Wilderness First Responder. I enjoyed taking care of patients and became more aware of opportunities in medical care. During medical school, I decided to specialize in interventional radiology. I love the ability to work directly with people and combine imaging technology and hands on patient care.
What do you like most about your job?
I love the combination of patient care, problem solving, medical imaging and hands on procedures and interventions.
What is your favorite way to spend free time (away from work)?
Outside of work I spend most of my time skiing and mountain biking. I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
What do you like most about working at RIA?
RIA has allowed myself and my partners to develop and maintain a cutting edge, diverse and incredibly talented Interventional Radiology practice. I have fantastic partners and support which enable us to provide the best possible patient care to ALL of our patients. We as a group encourage continued education and thorough patient care and we pride ourselves on providing compassionate, comprehensive and expert care.
