We wanted to get to know Anne Aubry, a new nurse practitioner at our clinic, a little better, and here is what she had to say about life in Colorado and working at RIA.
How, when and why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?
I was fortunate to know at an early age that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine. During my high school years, my grandmother was diagnosed with colon cancer and needed home health care. A visiting nurse taught me how to care for her daily needs, including tube feedings and ostomy care. I learned what an honor it is to care for a loved one and the difference that providing the basic needs of daily life made in her last few months of life.
What do you like most about your job?
My favorite part of the job is the team approach with the whole staff. We have an amazing group of providers, nurses, techs and support staff that work together to provide patients with compassionate and up-to-date care.
What is your favorite way to spend free time?
I enjoy doing all of the usual Colorado activities, such as hiking, biking and skiing. I also like to play hockey when I get the chance with my Ladies Lunch League friends. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
What do you like most about working at RIA?
It has only been a few months; however, I do like that I look forward to coming to work every day. I am always learning more about how interventional radiology can make a difference in our patients’ lives.
