HI JESSICA, JUST TO START, HOW, WHEN AND WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO PURSUE A CAREER IN MEDICINE?
I would like to say I knew all along that I wanted to be a nurse, but that would not be true. I finished college with a degree in Kinesiology because; I found the human body to be pretty amazing. After college I worked as a Medical Assistant and from that I was drawn to nursing. I enjoy the amount of time I get to spend with my patients sitting down and listening and tending to their needs. Nursing to me is all about the patient. I like helping people and bringing happiness to individuals and comforting those in need.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Honestly, I love the intimate care setting. Working at RIA Interventional Suite, I am able to connect with my patient and their family members in a more personal environment. I enjoy that it’s all about the patients; I am able to care for my patient throughout the whole process beginning to end of their procedure.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND FREE TIME?
If you ask anyone that knows me they would say I love to exercise. I enjoy running, hiking, yoga, paddle boarding, swimming…basically anything active. I like to spend my summers outside by a lake or ocean and winters skiing. I also have three boys that keep my husband and I pretty busy with all their activities.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT WORKING AT RIA?
I like being a part of an intimate care team and I enjoy working closely with all the providers.
Thanks for everything you do, Jessica! We couldn’t be prouder to have you on our team.
