Each of our team members brings his or her talents and dedication to work every day. We went back into our archives to see what Nicole Trouchon, NP, had to say about her path to medicine and why she works at RIA.
How, when, and why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine? I was in a rollover car accident at age 21 and hospitalized for several weeks with numerous orthopedic injuries. Everyone from physicians to surgeons to nurses and beyond put me back together and supported me every step of the way through my recovery. From that experience, I knew that I wanted a career in health care and that I wanted to be able to give back some of the wonderful care and compassion that was shown to me.
What do you like most about your job? The patients and being able to help them navigate through their health care journey. I love being able to see their progression and health improvement.
What is your favorite way to spend free time? My favorite activity is spending time with my husband and two kiddos. Generally, my free time involves watching my son play baseball, but on rare weekends that aren’t dominated by sports, we try to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful state we are privileged to live in.
What do you like most about working at RIA? My wonderful coworkers. I love our team and that we all work so well together. We are truly a work family that supports each other each and every day.
