Patient Stories: Mary S. Successful Fistula Procedure

What brought you to RIA Endovascular?

I’ve had a fistula for dialysis for about six years. I have had issues with it in the past that my nephrologist could solve. Now I had a severe narrowing in a vein in my shoulder that needed special attention. My doctor sent me to Dr. Yee at RIA Endovascular. He was able to open up the hard to get to vein so that I could go back to my dialysis treatments using my fistula.

How was your experience while at RIA Endovascular?

The staff and Dr. Yee were fantastic. I was in a lot of pain and I was so pleased that they were able to get me in so quickly to take care of me. I was very nervous about the procedure itself. Thank goodness for Nurse Jessica for putting up with me and being so patient. I tend to talk a lot when I get nervous and she was right there for me the entire time.

What would you tell others about your experience at RIA Endovascular?

I would describe the clinic as prompt and efficient. I had some post-operative discomfort related to another issue and the nurses were quick to return my calls and help me with next steps at another office. I think they went above and beyond to help me find an answer. If I had to tell people one thing about my experience it would be that RIA Endovascular treated me well when I was overwhelmed with anxiety. I absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of a procedure.
