Deanna V. chose Uterine Fibroid Embolization for uterine fibroid pain relief without surgery. Uterine fibroid embolization is a minimally-invasive procedure that relieves pelvic pain caused by fibroids. Fibroids are irregular growths in the uterus that develop during child-bearing years.
While many women will develop fibroids in their lives, often without symptoms, fibroids can erode one’s quality of life. Deanna chose to take action to better her life. We wanted to ask her about her experience.
What problems were you having before you came to RIA Endovascular?
Before UFE I felt heavy and bloated. I was having bladder issues feeling full and having to urinate very often. I also was having very heavy periods that would leave me feeling exhausted and uncomfortable.
How was your patient experience with Dr. Martin and the clinic staff?
Dr. Martin and his staff were very professional and friendly. They all made me feel at ease and explained each step of the process. They thoroughly explained my procedure and what to expect post-op. The clinic staff contacted me a few times to follow up after my procedure and answered my questions.
What specific result/outcome did you like most about this procedure?
After a few weeks, my first menstrual cycle was much lighter, and after 2 months back to normal again. My bladder issues were much improved after a few weeks and completely back to normal 2 months after my procedure.
What would you like to share with others?
I highly recommend contacting RIA endovascular if you are suffering from uterine fibroids. I was not prepared to undergo a hysterectomy and was very happy with my results and quick recovery time. I was out taking walks a week after UFE and back to my weight lifting routine after 4 weeks. I’m very happy with my results.
